Description

This initiative supports rigorous institutional research training programs for low- and middle-income country (LMIC) scientists to enhance collaborative NIH research with U.S. scientists on specific noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), disorders, and health conditions. Programs provide research training and mentorship with skills development in data management, scientific presentation, publication, and responsible conduct of research. Trainee research projects leverage NIH-funded studies in LMICs to understand the etiology and epidemiology of NCDs in low-resource settings.
