The National Cancer Institute (NCI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is seeking multi-disciplinary research teams to join the Pancreatic Cancer Detection Consortium (PCDC): - Research Units (RUs) will focus on early detection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and its precursor lesions - Develop and test new molecular and imaging biomarkers for early PDAC detection - Identify and screen high-risk patient populations - Validate biomarkers using machine learning and computational methods - RUs will collect and contribute longitudinal biospecimens to a shared biorepository - Collaboration and data sharing within the consortium is required - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named, as this is a research grant opportunity - Funding is through a cooperative agreement, open to government, nonprofit, academic, and other eligible organizations - Unique requirements include multi-disciplinary collaboration, biorepository development, and advanced computational analysis
Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) solicits applications for Research Units (RUs) as part of the Pancreatic Cancer Detection Consortium (PCDC) to conduct research on early detection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and its precursor lesions. The research aims to identify biomarkers and develop molecular and imaging approaches for early detection and screening of high-risk populations. The PCDC-RUs will also collect longitudinal biospecimens for a biorepository and collaborate within the consortium. The funding supports multi-disciplinary teams to advance biomarker discovery, validation, and screening methods for PDAC.
