Description
The National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program (NPS ABPP) offers Battlefield Land Acquisition Grants (BLAG) to assist State and local governments, Tribes, and nonprofit organizations in preserving eligible Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War battlefield lands through acquisition of fee-simple or less-than-fee interests. Funding is competitively awarded from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and requires a dollar-for-dollar non-Federal match. Grants support acquisition of lands outside National Park System boundaries and require public access consistent with preservation goals. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until September 30, 2026.
