Description
The Advanced Manufacturing (AM) program supports fundamental research to revitalize American manufacturing, grow national prosperity and workforce, and reshape strategic industries. It accelerates advances in manufacturing technologies with emphasis on multidisciplinary research that transforms manufacturing capabilities, methods, and practices. Research proposals should address national prosperity and security, advancing knowledge to sustain global leadership, and may include areas such as manufacturing systems, materials processing, manufacturing machines, methodologies, and manufacturing across length scales. Interdisciplinary and convergent proposals that broaden the impact of advanced manufacturing research are encouraged. Proposals of all sizes will be considered as justified by the project description.
