NASA, in cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley, has published a joint Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and environmental impact report (EIR) for the Berkeley Space Center at NASA Research Park located at the Ames Research Center in Santa Clara County, California. The project includes academic and research facilities, conference center, retail and maker spaces, student and faculty housing, short-term lodging, transportation networks, and open landscaped spaces. The EIS evaluates two build alternatives and a no-action alternative. A 45-day public comment period is open, with a public meeting scheduled for May 13, 2026.
