Description
This Notice of Funding Announcement (NOFO) encourages submission of pilot and feasibility clinical trials conducted in humans to lay the foundation for larger clinical trials related to prevention and/or treatment of diseases within the mission of NIDDK. The program supports small, short-term proof-of-concept clinical trials to acquire preliminary data on intervention effects and feasibility data related to recruitment, retention, and study conduct. Applications should have clearly defined aims and objectives with a high likelihood of leading to more definitive trials to improve understanding, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of the diseases studied, potentially impacting clinical practice and public health. Preliminary data regarding intervention efficacy are not required.
