Description

The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 aims to ensure individuals with developmental disabilities and their families have access to community services and supports promoting independence and inclusion. Section 151(b) authorizes grants to University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs) to conduct national training initiatives addressing critical and emerging needs. The Administration for Community Living will award grants to UCEDDs to cover federal costs of these training initiatives, subject to appropriations. Eligible applicants are the 67 UCEDDs; foreign entities are not eligible. The funding amount is $1,000,000 with expected awards of 10, ranging from $150,000 to $1,000,000 each.
