Description

The NHLBI Catalyze Program supports the transition of basic science discoveries into diagnostic and therapeutic candidates ready for human testing. It focuses on early-stage projects involving device prototypes, disease target identification, assay development, and related research tools. The program has two phases: R61 for initial prototype testing and research tool piloting, and R33 for continued prototype development and diagnostic product generation. Successful projects are expected to advance toward in vivo testing with additional NIH or private support. The initiative complements other related programs and is open to a wide range of eligible applicants including nonprofits, educational institutions, government entities, and businesses.
