Description
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), with the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), intends to solicit applications for research on in vivo high-resolution imaging of the human olfactory system. The goal is to develop or leverage advanced non-invasive/minimally invasive imaging technologies to visualize peripheral and central olfactory targets at previously unattainable resolution. This research aims to overcome challenges posed by the olfactory system's unique anatomical and functional characteristics and improve diagnostic accuracy of olfactory disorders. Collaborative investigations combining expertise in olfaction, biomedical imaging, biochemistry, bioengineering, and biophysics are encouraged.
