The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for research focused on developing, optimizing, and testing provider-level interventions and tools to promote competence and sustained implementation fidelity in delivering evidence-based suicide prevention interventions. The research aims to inform service-ready implementation strategies and develop valid, scalable measures and tools for monitoring the delivery and outcome of suicide prevention services, including risk assessment, referral and engagement, and preventative/therapeutic interventions. This NOFO will utilize the R01 activity code and encourages investigators with expertise in clinical trials methodology, psychometric validation, and implementation science related to suicide prevention strategies. Collaborative investigations combining expertise in health services research, comparative effectiveness, practice-based research, and data science are also encouraged. Applications are not being solicited at this time; the notice is provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop collaborations and responsive projects.
