Description
The P-12 Schools: Clean Green Schools Initiative aims to assist public schools that traditionally lack resources to invest in infrastructure improvements to create healthier, more productive learning environments. The program provides funding for construction projects that decarbonize school building portfolios and enhance resilience to extreme heat, including retrofits impacting energy consumption, electrification readiness projects, and conversion to clean energy technologies such as heat pumps. Additionally, schools may receive funding to support clean energy educational opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and the community. The initiative targets public school districts designated as Priority Districts and BOCES buildings located in disadvantaged communities across New York State.
