Description
The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS) healthcare facilities currently utilize Sensoscientific automated temperature monitoring systems, including proprietary sensors, probes, and software, to continuously monitor temperature-sensitive medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and supplies. These systems are fully deployed, operational, and integrated into facility workflows to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted healthcare operations.
Sensoscientific is the sole proprietor and manufacturer of the installed monitoring systems and associated proprietary software. The software is not open-source and is not compatible with products or services from other manufacturers or vendors. No other source is authorized or technically capable of managing, integrating, servicing, maintaining, or providing replacement components for Sensoscientific systems. As a result, no other vendor can meet the Government’s minimum requirements without requiring complete system replacement.
Replacing the existing Sensoscientific systems with an alternative product would result in significant disruption to operations, increased costs, retraining of staff, potential data loss, and possible lapses in continuous temperature monitoring. Such disruption would pose unacceptable risks to patient safety, compliance with healthcare and storage standards, and continuity of care across Albuquerque Area IHS facilities.
Accordingly, only one source is reasonably available to fulfill the requirement. Procurement from Sensoscientific is necessary to maintain system compatibility, ensure continuity of automated temperature monitoring services, and meet the Government’s operational and regulatory requirements. Use of another source is not practicable, as no alternative vendor can provide supplies or services that are functionally compatible with the existing Sensoscientific infrastructure.
