Description
The Family and Youth Services Bureau's Runaway and Homeless Youth Division is seeking to extend approval for the National Communication System operated by the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). The NRS provides free information, referral services, crisis intervention, and prevention resources to vulnerable youth at risk of running away or homelessness and their families or guardians. The system collects voluntary data from contacts via calls, chats, emails, and forum posts to inform crisis services and develop annual reports. This data helps identify service needs, outreach strategies, and supports a required report to Congress on youth in crisis.
