Description

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) plans to submit a request to renew the Industry Safety Data Program information collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This voluntary program allows offshore oil and gas companies to submit sensitive safety data to identify early warnings of potential safety issues. The program is sponsored by the Department of the Interior and operated independently by BTS. The renewal will enable continued collection and analysis of safety reports to help prevent accidents and fatalities on the Outer Continental Shelf.
