The State of Vermont is seeking proposals for the supply of one Wildland Fire Engine (NWCG Type 6) with strict OEM requirements and detailed technical specifications: - Government Buyer: - State of Vermont, Department of Buildings and General Services, Office of Purchasing & Contracting, for the Agency of Natural Resources, Forests, Parks and Recreation - OEMs and Vendors: - Ford (F550 cab and chassis; no substitutions allowed) - Waterax (BB-4 auxiliary fire pump; no substitutions allowed) - Kubota (Diesel engine powering the Waterax pump; no substitutions allowed) - Additional specified brands for components: Tomar (LED lighting, siren, speaker), WARN (winch), Hannay (hose reels), National Firefighter (hydrant wrench holder) - Products/Services Requested: - One (1) Wildland Fire Engine (NWCG Type 6), built on a 2026 or newer Ford F550 4x4 crew cab chassis, 19,500 lbs GVWR, seating for five, turbocharged 6.7L V8 diesel engine, 10-speed automatic transmission, heavy-duty suspension - Waterax BB-4 auxiliary pump powered by Kubota Model DH902 diesel engine - 300-400 gallon polypropylene water tank (NFPA 1900 compliant), 6-12 gallon foam tank, Odin Darley Fast Foam 150 foam proportioning system (or equivalent) - Extensive Tomar LED lighting and siren systems, WARN 16.5Ti winch, Hannay SBEPF-24-23-24 hose reels, National Firefighter FEQ 148 hydrant wrench holder - Additional features: tire pressure monitoring, rear view camera, battery indicator, ground lighting, pump operator's panel, heavy-duty rear bumper - Four mandatory inspections/approvals during design, manufacture, and delivery - Unique/Notable Requirements: - No substitutions permitted for Ford F550 chassis, Waterax BB-4 pump, or Kubota diesel engine - All other substitutions require documentation and State approval - Apparatus must meet/exceed USFS, NWCG, and NFPA standards - Bidders must provide documentation of the closest service location to Essex Junction, VT for warranty and non-warranty service - 10-year warranty on apparatus, lifetime warranty on water tank - Delivery required to 111 West Street, Essex Junction, VT - Contract period of 2 years with up to three 1-year renewal options
