The City of Cedar Rapids Facilities Maintenance Services Division is seeking bids for a comprehensive HVAC upgrade at the Animal Care and Control Facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. - Government Buyer: - City of Cedar Rapids, Facilities Maintenance Services Division, Purchasing Services - OEMs and Vendors: - Valent (primary OEM specified for rooftop unit and controllers) - Alternate manufacturers may be considered if products meet or exceed Valent specifications - Products/Services Requested: - One (1) new rooftop unit (RTU-4), Valent VXC-212-FH-25I-N-G2 or approved equivalent - 25-ton packaged DX cooling, indirect gas heat, energy recovery, BACnet controls, and accessories - Includes factory-mounted controls, variable frequency drives, refrigerant leak detection, and BMS integration - Five (5) upgrade controllers for existing Valent RTUs (models: VPRP-210-25C-351-A-1DX, VPRX-210-13C-251-A-1DX, VPRP-210-13B-25E-A-1DX, VPRX-210-10C-251-A-1DX) - Installation of one (1) additional controller already owned by the City on RTU-07 - HVAC installation and upgrade services, including curb adaptation, removal and EPA-compliant disposal of old RTU, factory start-up documentation, and staff training - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Strict insurance and bonding requirements - OSHA 10 safety training required for all on-site workers - Adherence to local preference policies - No price escalation during the initial contract term - Warranty coverage: 18 months for unit, 5 years for energy core, 25 years for heat exchanger, 5.5 years for compressors - All bids must be submitted electronically via the City's E-Procurement portal

Description

The City of Cedar Rapids is soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of the RTU for HVAC upgrade at the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control Facility located at 7241 Washington View Pkwy SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The project includes providing and installing one new RTU-4, five upgrade controllers for existing Valent RTUs, and one additional controller already in the City's possession. The contractor is responsible for curb adaptation, proper disposal of the old unit, factory start-up documentation, and training for City staff.
