Description

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) intends to enter into a sole source agreement with International Telecom for the Installation of Eastern Arctic Undersea Fibre Optic Network (EAUFON-3). The project involves marine installation activities, specifically fiber optic cable installation in the Arctic region, and is dependent on funding approval from the Province of Quebec. Due to legal restrictions under the Coastal Trade Act, only Canadian flagged vessels can be used, and International Telecom is currently the only company identified with such a vessel. Other parties with Canadian flagged cable ships and crews are invited to express interest and demonstrate qualifications for work in summer 2027.
