Description
This direct final rule amends PHMSA's regulations to incorporate by reference the updated 2025 edition of industry standard ASTM F1973, which specifies requirements for factory assembled anodeless risers and transition fittings in polyethylene and polyamide fuel gas distribution systems. The update aims to maintain or improve public safety, reduce regulatory confusion, and lessen compliance burdens on stakeholders. It also satisfies a mandate under the National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995. The rule is effective January 1, 2027, unless adverse comments are received by June 23, 2026.
