The U.S. Embassy Harare, under the Department of State, is soliciting a contractor for comprehensive preventive maintenance services for Kone traction elevators at its facility. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Embassy Harare, GSO Procurement & Contracting Office, Department of State - OEM Highlight: - Kone is the specified Original Equipment Manufacturer for all elevator equipment and parts - Products/Services Requested: - Preventive maintenance for four Kone traction elevators installed in 2017 - Routine monthly maintenance (12 visits per year) - Supply of Kone elevator spare parts (e.g., door rollers, control board components, brake pads, guide shoe inserts) - Elevator load testing and inspection (annual no-load and five-year full load safety tests) - 24/7 emergency response service (one-hour response for emergencies) - Non-emergency response service (one working day response) - Callback service (return within three hours for repeat malfunctions) - Defense Base Act (DBA) insurance for contractor employees - VAT as a separate line item - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Strict adherence to Kone manufacturer specifications for all maintenance and repairs - Contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, transportation, and parts - 24/7 emergency response capability required - Quality assurance: maximum of one customer complaint per month - Contractor must be SAM registered, provide proof of licenses, and demonstrate past performance - Pre-quotation conference to be held at the U.S. Embassy Harare - Period of Performance: - One-year base period with two one-year option periods (up to three years total) - Place of Performance: - U.S. Embassy Harare, 2 Lorraine Drive, Bluffhill, Harare, Zimbabwe

Description

The U.S. Embassy in Harare requires the Contractor to maintain the elevators identified in SOW in safe, reliable and efficient operating condition.  The Contractor shall provide all necessary managerial, administrative and direct labor personnel, and as well as all necessary transportation, equipment, tools, repair parts, supplies and materials required to perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and component replacement as required to maintain the elevators in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

The Embassy intends to conduct a pre-quotation conference at the site. The pre-proposal conference will be held on May 4 at 10.00am (Harare Time) at U.S. Embassy Harare, No 2 Lorraine Drive, Bluffhill. Prospective offerors/quoters should email the attached Pre-Quotation Conference/Site visit Registration Form to  HarareGSOProcurement@state.gov  by Wednesday April 29, 2026 to arrange entry to the building.
