The U.S. Air Force's 187th Fighter Wing at Dannelly Field, Montgomery, AL is seeking contractor support for the Optimizing Human Weapon System (OHWS) program, focused on enhancing the health and performance of fighter aircrew. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Air Force, 187th Fighter Wing, Dannelly Field, Montgomery, AL - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or commercial vendors are named; services are to be provided by qualified contractors with licensed personnel - Services Requested: - Multidisciplinary 'pre-habilitative' physical training program - Strength and conditioning - Physical therapy - Massage therapy - Athletic training - Pilot evaluations and initial assessments within one week - Injury prevention and formal care plans - Monthly progress reporting and quality control - Travel expenses for service delivery - Quantities: - OHWS services: 12 units per year (base and each option year, up to 5 years) - Travel: 1 unit per year (base and each option year) - Unique Requirements: - Services must address spine discomfort and the unique physical needs of rated fighter aircrew - Contractor must provide licensed Athletic Trainers, Strength and Conditioning Specialists, and Massage Therapists - Performance standards include strict acceptable quality levels (AQLs) and ongoing government monitoring - Initial assessments required within one week of contract start - Monthly reporting and quality control plans are mandatory - Services performed 30 hours weekly at Building 1303, Dannelly Field - Security and identification requirements for contractor personnel - Government furnishes specific fitness equipment - Period of Performance: - 12-month base period plus four 12-month option years (up to 5 years total) - Place of Performance: - Building 1303, 5187 Selma Highway, Montgomery, AL 36108 (Dannelly Field, 187th Fighter Wing)

Description

Up to 85% of Air Force fighter aircrew surveyed reported some type of spine discomfort during their career. The OHWS program is designed to meet the unique physical needs of the rated fighter aircrew. Conditioning is accomplished through a comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary “pre-habilitative” physical training program with focused strength and conditioning, physical therapy, massage therapy, and athletic training.
