Description

The Field Museum has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The museum has determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The human remains represent at least one individual of Native American ancestry, specifically affiliated with the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and the Fort Belknap Indian Community of Montana. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after May 26, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the Field Museum's NAGPRA Director.
