Description
The Gulf Fishery Management Council (Gulf Council) will hold a 2-day virtual meeting of its Workgroup on Shrimp Bycatch Methodology for Finfish Species. The meeting will include presentations on estimation of shrimp trawl bycatch, use of observer data, gear selectivity, and species-specific shrimp effort estimates. The working group will discuss these topics and make recommendations to the Council's Scientific and Statistical Committee. Public comments will be heard at the end of the meeting. The meeting will be held virtually on May 11-12, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT daily.
