Sole Source Contract Modification for Link-16 Development Test Support (SPY-7(V)1/Aegis Integration)

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing its intent to modify a sole source contract with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems for Link-16 development test support related to the SPY-7(V)1 Solid State Radar and J8 Aegis Weapon System integration. - Contract modification will cover: - Establishment of test architecture for Link-16 development - Provision of Modeling & Simulation data for Ballistic Missile Defense Operation Support System validation - Execution of interoperability testing between Command and Control (C2) and shipboard combat systems - Problem investigation and specialized engineering assistance - Finalization of the Interface Design Document (IDD) for integration - Sole source award to Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems - No competitive proposals will be accepted - Place of performance is Moorestown, New Jersey - Contracting office locations include Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama and Dahlgren, Virginia - Period of performance is from contract award through April 30, 2028 - Related to integration of SPY-7(V)1 Solid State Radar and J8 Aegis Weapon System

Description

This requirement is for a Link-16 development test event planned in calendar year 2027.  The contractor will support establishing a test architecture, provide Modeling & Simulation data to support validation of the Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Operation Support System, execute interoperability testing, conduct problem investigation, and provide specialized engineering assistance and solution to finalize the Interface Design Document (IDD) for implementation between a Command and Control (C2) system and shipboard combat systems.  The period of performance is anticipated to be date of award through April 30, 2028.
