The Board of County Commissioners of Washington County, Maryland, is soliciting sealed bids for the Showalter Road at Perini Avenue Intersection Improvements, Contract No. II-SP-043-16. The project involves reconfiguring the intersection from a full movement to a right-in/right-out traffic pattern, reconstructing the existing concrete island, constructing a new concrete median, widening Showalter Road to provide an acceleration lane and taper section, reconstructing the curb, relocating and constructing traffic barriers, and installing new line striping and signage. Additional work includes grading, milling and overlay, full depth paving, pavement markings, sign relocation, and traffic control. The contract duration is 100 consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages of $100 per day for delays beyond the contract end date.
