All information in this request is considered confidential and shall not be used by the Respondent for any reason other than responding to this request. This is a Request for Information (RFI) and your response is NOT an offer. The results of this RFI will be used to develop an Acquisition Strategy and will NOT result in a contract of any type. This request does not obligate UNICOR OFG to pay any costs incurred in response preparation. All costs are borne by the Respondent. All responses shall become property of UNICOR OFG and will not be returned. Scope: UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries (FPI), is soliciting proposals for the sale and marketing of systems furniture, case goods, seating, metals, and accessories. DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT OF WORK UNICOR Office Furniture Group (OFG) requires sales and marketing of its products and services, including but not limited to existing and future offerings. The successful offeror(s) will work closely with UNICOR’s spaceplan and design vendor daily during the contract period. The sales team will cover the entire U.S., including Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. Staffing must include at least 2 regional managers and 8 sales representatives, located to respond promptly to customer needs, generally within 24 hours. UNICOR will not cover operational costs such as salaries, benefits, office expenses, or travel. The sales team will identify customers, make sales calls, close sales, and facilitate hand-offs to UNICOR’s Project Managers. They will educate customers on UNICOR’s mission and processes, and develop a fact sheet on customer responsibilities for delays and changes, subject to UNICOR approval. It will be handed over at contract end and cannot be used for future competition against UNICOR. A National Sales Manager with at least 7 years of relevant experience will be appointed, reporting directly to the Chief of Sales. The manager will meet with UNICOR management bi-monthly, either in Washington, DC, or via teleconference. Regional Managers with at least 5 years of experience and sales representatives with at least 2 years of experience in government or commercial furniture sales are required. Resumes (max 2 pages) and company profiles must be submitted for all proposed personnel. The sales force will be exclusive to UNICOR, tracking all leads from inception to closure, and submitting monthly reports on order success rates and forecasts for the upcoming 30, 60, and 90 days, categorized by product and dollar value. Sales Management Activities Conduct weekly sales and marketing meetings Develop monthly sales forecasts Participate in trade shows and marketing events Manage sales goals and performance reports Develop pricing strategies and conduct field presentations Build relationships with key government specifiers and influencers Establish a bid desk for responding to government solicitations, with UNICOR approval for discounts and quotes. Monthly reports will include forecasts, lead probabilities, and other relevant data. Ensure sales staff have appropriate security clearances, including NCIC checks, prior to working on UNICOR premises. All new staff resumes must be approved by the UNICOR Chief of Sales before interviews. Compensation will be based on a target of 3-3.5% of monthly sales, subject to review annually. Payments will be adjusted for canceled orders or chargebacks, with detailed reporting on factory sales locations.
