The City of Fredericton is seeking proposals for the supply and delivery of modern ballistic shields for police and Emergency Response Team (ERT) operations. - Government Buyer: - City of Fredericton, New Brunswick (Office of the City Clerk, 397 Queen Street) - Products Requested: - Five (5) NIJ Level III rifle-rated full-size ballistic shields - One (1) NIJ Level III rifle-rated compact/CQB ballistic shield - Optional accessories: - One (1) ballistically rated viewport (factory-installed, NIJ-equivalent protection) - One (1) shield lighting system (integrated or attachable, white light, handle-mounted controls) - One (1) carry/storage case (protective, padded transport solution) - Services Requested: - Operator training/orientation (one on-site session, one virtual session) - Delivery, installation, testing, warranty, and maintenance - Notable Requirements: - Shields must meet or exceed NIJ Standard 0108.01 Level III for rifle threats - Shields must be lighter than legacy 35 lb models and constructed with polyethylene-based composite materials - Ergonomic design, integrated mounting for lights, and multihit capability required - Five-year ballistic warranty on all shields - Operator-level familiarization training (on-site and virtual) - Canadian after-sales support and warranty service - Strict compliance with City of Fredericton Supplier Code of Conduct - All onsite personnel must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or any other mandated government vaccine - Supplier must comply with information security and privacy standards, including Canadian data residency and privacy legislation - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Contract term is five years, with firm pricing for the first two years and CPI-based adjustments thereafter
