The City of Somerville, Massachusetts is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive restaurant food health inspection services for approximately 550 food establishments. - Government Buyer: - City of Somerville, Procurement & Contracting Services Department - Senior Procurement Manager: Felisa Grate - Scope of Services: - Routine inspections, risk level 1 inspections, re-inspections, complaint inspections, pre-operational inspections, and foodborne illness investigations - Approximately 650 routine inspections, 100 risk level 1 inspections, 500 re-inspections, 15 complaint inspections, 15 pre-operational inspections, and 10 foodborne illness investigations annually - Miscellaneous health inspection services available at an hourly rate (estimated 832 hours) - All inspections must comply with Massachusetts Department of Public Health and federal food codes, using a risk-based HACCP approach - Inspections are unannounced and must occur Monday through Friday, 7:30am–7pm - Inspectors must use the City's online permitting software and provide their own inspection tools - Notable Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of Massachusetts food inspection experience - Familiarity with online permitting software - Compliance with local ordinances, including wage and vehicle safety requirements - Emphasis on supplier diversity and equal opportunity employment - Complete bid package submission required - No specific OEMs or product vendors are named, as this is a professional services contract - Place of Performance: - All services performed at food establishments within the City of Somerville, Massachusetts

This is a professional services contract for restaurant food health inspection services. The City of Somerville seeks qualified food inspectors to conduct routine inspections and re-inspections at approximately 550 food establishments. The contract may require 5+ years of Massachusetts food inspection experience and familiarity with online permitting software. The contract term is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with two additional one-year renewals at the City's sole discretion.
