This opportunity seeks contractors for major airfield electrical and lighting upgrades at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland: - Government Buyer: - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District (W2SD ENDIST NEW YORK) and Omaha District - Scope of Work: - Installation of a new Short Approach Lighting System (SALS) with Runway End Identifier Lights (REILs) for runway 26 - New Runway Distance Remaining (RDR) signage and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) for runway 26 - Construction of a new airfield lighting vault with an emergency backup generator (750kW) - Installation of an 800kW load bank, multiple transformers (e.g., T1103, T1104, T-FMQ19, T-GS, TG), switchboards, and panelboards - FAA-compliant airfield lighting fixtures, including in-pavement and elevated approach lights, and PAPI systems - Installation of new fiber optic cables, manholes, junction can plazas, and grounding/bonding systems - Demolition of the existing lighting vault and related facilities - Products/Equipment: - 750kW generator, 800kW load bank, transformers (various ratings), switchboards, panelboards, FAA-compliant lighting fixtures, fiber optic cables, manholes, grounding systems - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All airfield lighting and electrical systems must comply with FAA standards - Coordination with airfield operations to minimize downtime during installation - Emphasis on backup power reliability and safety improvements for runway operations - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - No part numbers are specified; equipment must meet technical and regulatory requirements
