Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is seeking qualified contractors for a comprehensive roof replacement and lightning protection system installation at the Horse Barn and Machine Shed on its Ames, Iowa campus. - Government Buyer: - Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) - Facilities Planning & Management and Procurement Services - OEMs and Vendors: - GAF (roofing shingles, underlayment, and related components) - Tarter (DuraTough Panel barricades, MFG # DTPBL512) - Products and Quantities: - GAF Timberline ArmorShield II Shingles or equivalent (impact-resistant shingles) - GAF WeatherWatch Ice & Water Shield or equivalent (roof underlayment) - GAF FeltBuster Underlayment or equivalent - GAF Pro-Start Starter Shingles or equivalent - GAF Seal-A-Ridge ArmorShield Ridge Cap Shingles or equivalent - Metal flashing, edge trim, and gutters (removal, replacement, and reinstallation) - Minimum of 4 DuraTough Panel in Black - 12' by Tarter (MFG # DTPBL512) barricades - Services Requested: - Complete removal and replacement of existing roof systems, including adding OSB to existing wood decking - Installation and testing of a lightning protection system compliant with NFPA 780 and UL 96A standards - Provision of performance and payment bond for projects exceeding $25,000 - Protection of horses, staff, and facilities during construction, with work performed while buildings remain operational - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Lightning protection system must be installed by a Certified Member of the Lightning Protection Institute and tested for compliance - Contractor must provide a 1-year labor and material warranty and a 25-year manufacturer's material defect warranty on roofing materials - DuraTough Panel barricades to remain ISU property after project completion - Strict scheduling and safety requirements to minimize disruption and ensure animal and personnel safety

Description

Iowa State University is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to remove and replace the roofs of the Horse Barn and Machine Shed. The project includes adding OSB to existing wood decking, installing new shingles, flashing, gutters, and a lightning protection system compliant with NFPA 780 standards.
