The U.S. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service, is seeking nominations for the re-established Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation and Access Council. - Purpose: Advise the Secretary of the Interior and Secretary of Agriculture on wildlife and habitat conservation, hunting, shooting sports, and public access policies - Council Composition: - Up to 18 primary and 18 alternate members - Members from state agencies, conservation organizations, hunting and shooting sports interests, industry representatives, and other stakeholders - Senior-level representatives with relevant expertise are required - Council Operations: - Two-year charter - Meets at least twice annually - Strictly advisory; no procurement of products or services - Notable Requirements: - Nominations must demonstrate expertise and represent a broad range of interests - Council replaces the previous Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council
Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior is re-establishing the Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation and Access Council, replacing the previous Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council. The Council will provide recommendations to the Federal Government on policies related to wildlife and habitat conservation, hunting, shooting sports, and public access. Nominations are sought for up to 18 primary and 18 alternate members representing various stakeholder groups. The Council will serve a two-year charter and meet at least twice annually.
