The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking small business contractors to provide comprehensive duct replacement, HVAC cleaning, and mold remediation services at the Appalachian Fruit Research Station in Kearneysville, West Virginia. - Government Buyer: - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Appalachian Fruit Research Station - Scope of Work: - Replacement and cleaning of HVAC ductwork, including mold-compromised lined ductwork - Cleaning of all air handling units (AHUs), supply air diffusers, return air grilles, and registers - Mold remediation services, including containment, cleaning, removal, and disposal of contaminated materials - Installation of new ductwork, piping, controls, and associated HVAC components - Installation of thermal insulation for mechanical systems per ASHRAE 90.2 - Construction management and on-site superintendence - Key Products and Equipment: - Air Handling Units (6 units) - Exhaust and Supply Fans (10 units) - Makeup Air Unit (1 unit) - Air Terminals (7 units) - Supply and Exhaust VAV Terminal Boxes (19 units total) - Cooling Towers (2 units) - Backflow Preventers (4 units) - Heat Exchangers (2 units) - Condensate Return Units (4 units) - Electric and Steam Unit Heaters (16 units total) - Pumps (8 units) - Clean Steam Generators (3 units) - Humidifiers (4 units) - Disinfectants, biocides, fungicidal agents (EPA-registered) - Personal protective equipment (PPE) - Dehumidifiers, HEPA-filtered air filtration units, and vacuum cleaners - Metal ductwork, duct insulation systems, and duct access doors - Air distribution devices (registers, grilles, diffusers) - Notable Requirements: - All HVAC cleaning must be performed by NADCA-certified contractors - Mold remediation must be supervised by certified microbial remediation supervisors - Compliance with OSHA, USDA security, and federal labor/safety laws - Work must be performed after normal business hours and in phases to avoid research disruption - Mandatory site visit for offerors - Detailed technical approach and experience documentation required - No specific OEMs or part numbers are listed; contractors may propose suitable commercial products meeting the technical specifications.
