NASA is seeking specialized material testing services for its Artemis Suit Material Project and related initiatives: - Government Buyer: - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC), Crew and Thermal System Division Advanced Suit Team, and NASA Safety and Mission Assurance - OEMs and Vendors: - PMIC (sole source provider for certain testing services) - Products/Services Requested: - Coated fabric testing services for prototype lunar suit outer shell fabrics - Includes tensile, tear, puncture, and stiffness testing at ambient, hot, and cryogenic temperatures - Testing performed per ASTM standards using the UTS STN100KN system - Services include specimen inspection, conditioning, data logging, and detailed reporting with photos and videos - Tensile, tear, and puncture stiffness testing for fabric and plastic specimens under various temperature conditions - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Testing must be performed at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas - PMIC is identified as the sole provider for certain required testing services - Testing supports the Artemis lunar suit development and must adhere to strict ASTM standards - No hardware or parts are being procured; the focus is exclusively on specialized testing services - Period of performance is 6 months after contract award, with work performed as needed when specimens are ready
