This opportunity seeks qualified general contractors to provide job order contracting (JOC) services for the United Independent School District (UISD) in Laredo, Texas. - Scope of Work: - Contractors will perform minor construction, repair, rehabilitation, and alteration projects across all schools and administrative facilities in the district. - Services include site construction, concrete, masonry, metals, woodwork, windows, roofing, thermal and moisture protection, doors, finishes, specialties, equipment, furnishings, special construction, conveying systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security systems (fire, surveillance, access control, public address, network data lines). - All labor, materials, and equipment must be provided by the contractor. - Procurement Details: - No specific OEMs or product part numbers are named; this is a qualification-based solicitation for contractor services. - Pricing for work orders will be based on the 2021 RS Means manuals with the Laredo Factor. - Contractors must demonstrate experience with educational facilities, strong project management, and past performance. - Insurance and bonding requirements vary by project value (with thresholds at $5 million). - Contractors must submit five copies plus an original of their proposal. - The district will establish a pool of contractors and assign projects as needed; this is not an all-or-none award. - Period of Performance: - Initial contract term is 12 months, with two optional 12-month renewals (up to 36 months total). - Locations: - Work will be performed district-wide at UISD schools and administrative facilities in Laredo, Texas. - Contracting and billing offices are located at 3501 E.
