The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking qualified contractors for urgent boiler repair and welding services at its Gaithersburg, MD facility. - Government Buyer: - National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce - Scope of Work: - ASME "R" stamp certified boiler repair and welding services - High-pressure steam piping and boiler repair for six high-pressure boilers - Mobile welding operations - 24/7/365 callback availability for urgent Central Utility Plant (CUP) repairs and limited other repairs in steam manholes and other spaces - Key Requirements: - Contractor must hold ASME "R" stamp certification - Confined space training for personnel - Compliance with NIST safety and badging protocols - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; open to all qualified providers - Period of Performance: - Base year with up to four option years (potential total of five years) - Place of Performance: - NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland (notably building 302 and Central Utility Plant) - Notable Aspects: - Services must be available on an as-needed, around-the-clock basis - Monthly invoicing upon approved work

Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice to request information from industry to help the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) determine the availability and capability of small businesses and other than small businesses to provide NIST an ASME “R” stamp qualified boiler repair and welding contractor to perform high pressure steam piping and boiler repair and mobile welding operations on a 24/7/365 callback basis for urgent CUP repairs and limited other repairs in site steam manholes and other spaces on a as needed basis.

The anticipated period of performance for this requirement is (1) base year plus four (4) option years.
