Washington County, Maryland is seeking bids for a full renovation of the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Hagerstown, MD. - Scope of Work: - Comprehensive renovation including site work, concrete, masonry, metals, wood/plastics, thermal/moisture protection, doors/windows, interior/exterior finishes, specialties, conveying equipment (holeless hydraulic elevators), fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, and electronic safety/security systems - Includes base bid and several alternates: - Removal of area well and guardrail - Repair or replacement of damaged glass blocks - Replacement of glass block windows with new storefront windows - Allowance of $200,000 for contingencies - Unit price schedules for trench excavation, bulk rock excavation, duplex receptacles, exit signs, fire alarm devices, and occupancy sensors - Notable Requirements: - Bid, Performance, and Labor & Material Payment Bonds required - Minimum prime participation rates and subcontractor list submission - Pre-bid conference and site tour strongly encouraged - Elevator specification is non-proprietary (no specific OEM required) - No specific OEMs or proprietary vendors are named; all qualified construction contractors may bid - Project managed by Washington County Division of Public Works, with design/engineering by L.S.
