The Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking public comments on a request to allow the use of a foreign-built small passenger vessel, M/V ALEGRIA, in the United States coastwise trade. This notice aims to determine whether the proposed use of this vessel, which carries no more than twelve passengers for hire, would adversely affect U.S. vessel builders or U.S. coastwise trade businesses that use U.S.-built vessels. Comments are requested to assist in this determination and must be submitted by May 18, 2026.
