The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking public comments on a request to use a foreign-built small passenger vessel, S/V SASA, in U.S. coastwise trade. The Secretary of Transportation, through MARAD, must determine whether the proposed use of this vessel would adversely affect U.S. vessel builders or U.S. coastwise trade businesses that use U.S.-built vessels. Comments are invited to assist in this determination, with a deadline of May 18, 2026.
