Description
The Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) has completed an inventory of associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes objects from sites in Nebraska and Kansas, such as ceramics, lithics, bone tools, and other cultural items. KSHS has determined a cultural affiliation between these funerary objects and specific Indian Tribes, including the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, Kaw Nation, and Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after May 18, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to KSHS.
