The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a new 5-year affirmative finding for the Government of Panama under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA). This finding permits the importation into the United States of yellowfin tuna and related products harvested in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean by Panamanian purse seine vessels or exported from Panama, in compliance with the Agreement on the International Dolphin Conservation Program (AIDCP). The determination is based on documentary evidence from Panama and information from the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC). The finding is effective from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2031.
