Description

The Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 02 intends to solicit from a single source IAW RFO 6.103-2 to obtain Emergency Regulated Medical Waste and Sharps services in support of the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System to prevent impact on patient care and ensure patient and staff safety.

Period of performance: 4/17/2026-9/30/2026 Basic description of the requirement:

Department of Veterans Affairs, New York Harbor Health Care System (NYHHCS) is seeking urgent removal and disposal of regulated medical waste (RMW) services for each of three (3) campuses and two (2) associated outpatient clinics. RMW includes non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste, gen-ex cartridge waste, empty methadone bottles, pathological waste and trace-chemotherapeutic waste as well as reusable and disposable sharps exchange. These services are critical to patient safety and care.

Scope:
The contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary for the collection and removal of RMW as well as reusable and disposable sharps exchange services for the Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Healthcare System. The waste shall be processed and disposed of off-site by the contractor at a facility in compliance with all Federal, State and Local requirements. Management and processing of regulated waste and completion of all services shall be in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
