NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking to procure a tunable laser spectrometer system for calibration purposes. - Government Buyer: - NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Code 698 - Contracting managed by NASA Shared Services Center - OEM/Vendor: - NLIR APS (Denmark) is identified as the sole source and OEM for all requested items - Products/Services Requested: - Mid-infrared spectrometer (2–5 microns wavelength, 1 mW output, fiber-coupled, 2–5 microns wavelength) - Fiber optics: 100 µm core size fiber (1 meter), 200 µm core size fiber (1 meter), both for 2–5 microns wavelength - SAMPLER Accessory, Mid-IR Fiber, and MIRFIBER (as referenced in the notice) - Quantities: - 1 each of spectrometer, light source, 100 µm fiber, and 200 µm fiber - Unique/Notable Requirements: - System must be fiber-coupled and include analysis software - Used for calibration against traditional spectrometer and light source - Delivery required within 12 weeks after order - Sole source justification: NLIR APS is the only known provider for these specifications - Place of Performance/Delivery: - NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Building 33, Room D426, 8800 Greenbelt Dr., Greenbelt, MD 20771 - Contracting office at NASA Shared Services Center, Stennis Space Center, MS

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for MIDWAVE Spectrometer/Fiber Light Source/SAMPLER Accessory/Mid-IR Fiber/MIRFIBER. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to NLIR APS | Hirsemarken 1; Farum 3520 | Denmark under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that NLIR APS is the sole provider of MIDWAVE Spectrometer/Fiber Light Source/SAMPLER Accessory/Mid-IR Fiber/MIRFIBER

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 4/22/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
