Description

The New England Fishery Management Council is conducting five scoping meetings to gather public comments on potential improvements in the monkfish and skate fisheries. These meetings aim to identify challenges faced by these fishing sectors and explore possible management measures. The Council will review comments in June 2026 and use them to develop 2027 work priorities, coordinating with the Mid-Atlantic Council due to joint management of monkfish. Meetings will be held virtually and in-person between April 27 and May 11, 2026.
