SOLICITATION: Issued as Request for Quote (RFQ) for a Firm-Fixed-Price, Definite Delivery-Definite Quantity type contract.

Set Aside: This is an UNRESTRICTED solicitation.

Requirement: Federal Prison Industries (FPI) is seeking to purchase 7 mobile ferromagnetic detectors, shipped FBO Destination to: Qty 3, shipped to Unicor Recycling Schuylkill, I-81 and PA 901W, Minersville, PA 17954; Qty 2, shipped to Unicor Recycling Texarkana, 4001 Leopard Dr, Texarkana, TX 75501; Qty 2, shipped to Unicor Recycling Marianna, FL, 3625 FCI Road, Marianna, FL 32446.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS / WORK DESCRIPTION: Mobile Ferromagnetic Detectors must be: -able to passively screen persons for ferrous metals as they pass by; -mobile; -indicate where a ferrous metal was detected;

AWARD METHODOLOGY: This acquisition will be procured in accordance with FAR Part 12 – Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government intends to evaluate quotes and award a contract that is the best overall value to the government, in accordance with FAR 52.212-1(g). Evaluation factors are price, technical capabilities, and lead time. The Government reserves the right to require the quoter to submit additional information as necessary to support a pre-award determination of responsibility.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: UNICOR’s desired delivery is as soon as possible. Vendors are required to provide their best delivery time for evaluation. Delivery schedule will be established at time of award.

PART I: INFORMATION This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is SV209-26 and this solicitation is issued as a Request For Quote (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System code is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing (small business size 500). This requirement is UNRESTRICTED. This solicitation should result in a Purchase Order. It will not be an ongoing contract.

NOTICE TO GOVERNMENT WHEN CONTRACTOR(S) DELAYS: In the event the contractor(s) encounter difficulty in meeting performance requirements, or when there is an anticipated difficulty in complying with the delivery terms or completion dates, or whenever the contractor has knowledge that any actual or potential situation is delaying or threatens to delay the timely delivery/performance of this contract, the contractor must immediately notify the Contracting Officer at UNICOR in writing, giving pertinent details. This information will not be construed as a waiver by the Government of the required delivery schedule, or the Governments rights to impose consideration against delinquencies or other remedies provided by this contract.
