The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Commercial Fisheries Gene Conservation Laboratory, is seeking a qualified contractor for high-throughput whole genome sequencing services for approximately 3,000 kelp samples statewide. - Government Buyer: - Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) - Division of Commercial Fisheries Gene Conservation Laboratory - Division of Administrative Services - Products/Services Requested: - High-throughput whole genome sequencing for ~3,000 kelp samples (sugar kelp, bull kelp, ribbon kelp) - Library quantification and cluster generation (Illumina NovaSeq X or equivalent) - Sequencing using Illumina NovaSeq platform or equivalent (paired-end reads, 2x150 bp, ~950 Gb/lane, Q30 ≥85%) - Data processing (FASTQ files, QC metrics, demultiplexing, secure delivery via sFTP or hard drive) - Temporary secure data and sample storage (minimum 30-90 days, preference up to 6 months) - Project coordination, batch processing, and dedicated project management - OEMs and Vendors: - Illumina (NovaSeq platform specified or equivalent) - No other OEMs or specific vendors named - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Bidders must have at least 10 years of experience in next-generation short-read DNA sequencing and government contracts - Compliance with Alaska state laws, federal civil rights regulations, and ADA - Secure data handling and guaranteed project management response within one business day - Registration with procurement officer required for amendments - Valid Alaska business license required prior to award - Place of Performance: - State of Alaska; Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries Gene Conservation Laboratory - Contract Term: - Initial period from May 11, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with five one-year renewal options
