The City of Denton, Texas is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive utility line locating services for electric, fiber optic, water, and wastewater lines throughout the city. - Government Buyer: - City of Denton, Texas (Purchasing Office) - Scope of Services: - Locate and mark underground electric, fiber optic, water, and wastewater lines along city streets, easements, rights-of-way, and state roads - Respond to Texas811 tickets 24/7, including normal and emergency requests - Provide all labor, equipment, tools, supervision, bonds, and insurance - Maintain compliance with all applicable state, county, and local laws and ordinances - Adhere to strict safety standards (including OSHA logs, safety manuals, and employee training) - Submit regular and detailed reports, including daily reporting and damage audits - No digging is permitted as part of the locating services - Volume and Quantities: - Estimated annual tickets: 45,000 (electric and water/wastewater, normal hours), 1,275 (electric and water/wastewater, emergency/after-hours), 15,000 (fiber optic, normal hours), 1,500 (fiber optic, emergency/after-hours) - Additional hourly rates for extended locates and site surveillance - Minimum Qualifications: - At least five years of commercial experience - Controlled substance testing policies and staff background checks - Technicians must be registered with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation and have at least three years of experience - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Ability to interface with the Texas811 system for ticket management - Performance audits and accuracy/timeliness metrics - Detailed safety documentation and insurance coverage - Compliance with city and state procurement regulations - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Contract Term: - One year initial term with up to four additional one-year renewal options, plus a possible six-month extension at the City's discretion
