Des Moines Public Schools is seeking qualified contractors to provide concrete flatwork services for renovation, maintenance, and remodel projects across the district. - Government Buyer: - Des Moines Public Schools - Contact: David Niemi - Scope of Work: - Demolition and removal of old concrete - Concrete repairs (saw-cutting, removal, prep work, pour back, finishing) - Site preparation (excavation, grading, forming, base installation) - Rebar/mesh installation - Concrete placement and finishing (leveling, troweling, broom finishing, texturing) - Installation of expansion and control joints - Emergency response capability (within two hours) - Compliance with ASTM, ANSI, IOSHA, Iowa state/local building codes, and American Concrete Institute standards - One-year warranty on all work - Safety and conduct requirements - Performance bonds required for projects over $25,000 - Labor and Equipment Rates Requested: - Hourly rates for supervisors, finishers, laborers, and skid loader (with operator) - Labor rates per square foot for tearing out and placing/finishing 4" and 6" concrete slabs (trowel and broom finishes) - Labor rates per cubic yard for placing fill material or concrete with buggy - Trip charges for jobs under 1,000 sq/ft - Materials: - May be supplied by the District or contractor (with markup) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; open to all qualified concrete service providers - Unique Requirements: - Emergency response within two hours - Annual renewal options for up to four additional years - Pricing must include overhead and profit - Work performed as needed, district-wide
