This opportunity involves the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 20, seeking qualified businesses for the custom repair and rebuild of an Air-Handling Unit (AHU) at the American Lake VA Medical Center chapel in Tacoma, WA. - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 20, American Lake VA Medical Center - OEMs and Vendors: - The existing AHU is a JS Nesbitt Co model (over 30 years old) - No specific OEMs or vendors are mandated for the replacement parts or services - Products/Services Requested: - Custom-manufactured fan shaft compatible with the existing JS Nesbitt Co AHU - Custom replacement blower wheels fabricated to original specifications (CFM, RPM, static pressure, rotation, balance tolerance) - New bearings rated for operational load and environmental conditions - New sheaves and belts for the AHU fan assembly - Replacement steam heating coil meeting original design specifications, including new gaskets, fittings, and insulation - AHU fan rebuild service: disassembly, removal, fabrication, installation, alignment, balancing, and system testing - Steam coil replacement service: removal, installation, reconnection, pressure testing, leak inspection, and system functionality testing - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All replacement components must be custom-manufactured or fabricated to match the original JS Nesbitt Co AHU specifications - The project includes both mechanical fabrication and on-site installation/testing - The AHU is over 30 years old, requiring specialized custom solutions - Place of Performance: - American Lake VA Medical Center, 9600 Veterans Dr SW, Tacoma, WA 98493
