The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is inviting bids for a comprehensive bridge rehabilitation project in the Avalon Region, covering Routes 1 and 2. - Government Buyer: - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Tendering and Contracts Division - Scope of Work: - Rehabilitation of multiple bridge and underpass structures, including: - Foxtrap Access Road Overpass (Eastbound and Westbound) - Whitbourne Underpass - Manuels CNR Overpass - Pearltown Road Overpass East - Paddy’s Pond Underpass - Harbour Arterial Overpass West - Services include bridge rail replacement, concrete repairs, asphalt paving, guide rail installation, epoxy crack injection, signage installation, and overhead sign removal/reinstallation - Products and Materials Requested: - Warm mix asphaltic base and surface courses (PG58S-28, PG58V-34) - Latex modified concrete - Galvanic anodes (Type 3) - Steel bridge rails and guide rails - Concrete for abutments, curbs, and end blocks - Blending sand, liquid asphalt, welded wire mesh - Traffic control and maintenance services - Quantities: - Detailed quantities for each material and service (e.g., 72 units of base course, 751 units of surface course, 50,000 units of guide rail, 975 units of epoxy crack repair, etc.) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Electronic bid submission - Bid bond (10%), performance bond (50%), and labor/materials bond (50%) required - Strict completion deadlines for each project part, with liquidated damages of $2,500 per day for late completion - Traffic management must include a dedicated Traffic Control Supervisor and holiday weekend restrictions - No specific OEMs or branded vendors are named; materials must meet specified standards - All work to be performed at designated bridge and overpass locations in the Avalon Region
