DoD OIG Consolidates Criminal Investigation Records System and Extends TRICARE Childbirth & Breastfeeding Support Program

Description

The Department of Defense (DoD) is modifying and reissuing a system of records notice titled "Inspector General Criminal Investigation Records (IGCIR)," consolidating it with a previous system to unify criminal investigative records. This system collects and maintains records on individuals suspected of criminal misconduct investigated under the Inspector General Act. Updates include incorporation of standard routine uses, expanded information sharing outside DoD for oversight and reporting, added exemptions, and clarity improvements. A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking is also issued to exempt this system from certain Privacy Act provisions.
