THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS)/RFI, no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. This is NOT a request for quote, Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the US Government to form a binding contract. Companies that respond will not be paid for the information submitted. Any request for a solicitation will not receive a response. No obligation is created by either the issuance or response to this RFI. The information sought shall be considered Market Research IAW FAR Part 10.001.
Introduction
The purpose of this is to obtain information and comments from interested and potential sources that can provide used serviceable or used unserviceable core engines that meet the criteria within this request for the United States Air Force (USAF). The intent is to obtain approximately 47 engines. Access to the full volume of engines is not required to respond to this RFI.
Description(s)
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Propulsion Sustainment Division is seeking sources which have the capabilities of providing whole AE2100 and AE3007 series engines.
The common core variants considered acceptable are as follows:
AE2100A AE2100D2 AE2100D3 AE3007A2
Secondary consideration will be given to other variants of the AE engine family.
The assemblies should include the following, noting any missing components if applicable:
Compressor Variable Vane Actuator Assembly Compressor Assembly Gas Generator (High Pressure) Turbine Assembly Power Turbine (Low Pressure) Assembly Fuel System Assembly Lube System Assembly Air System Assembly Engine Monitoring System Assembly Engine Control System
Engines should be free of visible corrosion and free of physical damage. Engines must be operated by no more than one (1) Unites States flagged carrier or operator. Engines must be able to be provided with all operation and maintenance records from date of manufacture.
RFI Questions
What is your current inventory of the requested engine variants? Under what timeline will these engines become available? What is the condition of the engines you can provide (e.g., used serviceable, used unserviceable)? Can you provide traceability and documentation for the engines and their components as specified upon purchase? Please provide any additional relevant feedback that is deemed important in developing this requirement. Any information that is propriety should be clearly marked.
When expressing interest, potential offerors are requested to provide the following information: company name, company address, CAGE code (if applicable), size status (if applicable), and POC name, title, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Interested parties are encouraged to register to receive notifications through SAM. All interested parties should send company and/or descriptive literature along with responses, questions and/or comments to both Clint Carman at clint.carman@us.af.mil (Primary) and Brandon Nicholson at brandon.nicholson.4@us.af.mil. All responses must be received no later than 26 May 2026. All questions and comments must be in writing via email. No telephone calls will be accepted. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government.
